Air Radiators secures order for 21 VLocity Cooling Systems.
Air Radiators has been successful in securing an order to supply 21 new cooling systems for the Victorian VLocity DMU fleet. The success further extends Air Radiators supply on this program to over 150 cooling modules since 2004. Air Radiators now manufactures new cooling modules whilst remanufacturing old cooling modules from the 2004 supply thus providing a complete life solution for the cooling system.
The VLocity extension was announced by premier Daniel Andrews in May 2015 as part of the governments $257M investment in regional rail rolling stock and infrastructure. The new trains will commence manufacture at Bombardier Transportation in Dandenong, Victoria in March 2016 and all trains will be completed by mid-2017. The new carriages will increase capacity by 1,500 passengers per day across regional Victoria.
